Which years are Goat years?
Goat years include 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015; the next one is 2027. These are the popular zodiac dates, which change animal at Chinese New Year.
BaZi counts differently. The popular zodiac switches animal at Chinese New Year, which falls between 21 January and 20 February. BaZi switches at Li Chun (立春), the start of spring, which falls on 3, 4 or 5 February. If you were born in January or in the first weeks of February, your BaZi animal can be the neighbouring one, so confirm it with your chart. The people most affected were born in the gap between Li Chun and Chinese New Year: they carry one animal in the popular zodiac and another in BaZi.
Goat in a Goat year: the Tai Sui year
Goat meets Goat. The branch of 2027 matches your birth-year branch, which tradition describes as being "at Tai Sui" (值太岁). The tables list no clash, harm or punishment here. Custom is cautious anyway, because the year magnifies whatever your branch already carries: confidence, and also pressure. Red clothing or accessories are a cultural practice, not a technical remedy.
