Metal (金)

Metal is one of the Five Elements in BaZi and Chinese philosophy. It represents structure, boundaries, and clarity.

The nature of Metal

"Metal runs through your chart like a forged blade — clear, precise, unapologetically sharp."

Metal is the energy of structure, boundaries, and clarity. Like a well-forged sword, Metal cuts through confusion, separates what belongs from what doesn't, and brings form to formlessness. It's the judge, the editor, the one who speaks truth.

In the Five Elements cycle:

  • Metal is created by Earth (compression, minerals)
  • Metal creates Water (condensation, flow)
  • Metal is controlled by Fire (fire melts metal)
  • Metal controls Wood (metal cuts wood)
